PlayOn

PlayOn is one of the best new applications in 2009 says PC Magazine. I would agree, I have been using it for months on my Xbox360. What is PlayOn, well if you have a PLAYSTATION 3Xbox 360Nintendo WiiMoxi HD DVRNETGEAR EVA2000HP MediaSmart TV, or other DLNA-compliant device, PlayOn lets you watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, CBS, YouTube, CNN, ESPN and more on your TV. And, if that isn't reason enough to check it out, PlayOn also enables you to enjoy your local PC media files with its newly released local media sharing feature (currently in beta). You can see all your digital photos, listen to your stored music, and watch videos stored on your PC through the same PlayOn Digital Media Server.

Aviary Webapp Rocks

Aviary Aviary is a webapp maker that specializes in fully-featured Flash apps, and they're seemingly engaged in a dare to see how much users can get done entirely in a browser. Jackson West called Phoenix the best online image editor, and our readers agree. They've got a lighter, faster version dubbed Falcon, and if you want to annotate an image that's already on someone's server, you can paste its URL after http://aviary.com and it'll quickly import the image for your editing pleasure. Most recently, and most impressively, they've launched a full-featured audio editor that we totally geeked out over. If you can remember their name, you can benefit from Aviary's host of impressive in-a-pinch tools.
